We are progressively converting light bulbs used in our stores to LED.

  • ・By 2023, we have switched approximately 40% of our in-store customer seating lighting. After 2024, we will promote the switchover mainly in suburban restaurants.

  • ・To ensure a stable supply of foodstuffs, we forecast menu sales and calculate foodstuff usage in advance to optimize stocking levels, prevent overstocking, and reduce food loss.

Efforts to prevent food loss.

  • ・We monitor the status of food inventory in our stores and transfer stock between stores. Outlet products of western-style confectioneries generated at the manufacturing process stage in our factories are sold at a discount at designated venues in an effort to reduce food loss.

  • ・Our Restaurants are inspected daily using the 5S inspection list* of the HACCP sanitation management standard, which has become an international standard since 2021.
  • ・Regular audits and guidance are conducted by our in-house sanitation staff. The results of these audits are shared among the business units in charge, health and safety personnel, and executives to improve hygiene management awareness and accuracy.
  • ・We conduct annual hygiene inspections of our stores by an external hygiene agency.

*We use a check sheet to check the status of implementation of the activities of organization, orderliness, cleaning, cleanliness, and discipline.

Efforts to provide an abundance of food.

  • ・In 2017, we started a direct import business specializing in Italian wines. We are now able to discover new Italian wines and offer them in our directly managed restaurants to suit each occasion.
  • ・We operate the only overseas branch of the 150-year-old CAFE LANDTMANN in Vienna, Austria, in Aoyama to introduce traditional Austrian cuisine and café culture.

Promotion of employment of foreign nationals

  • ・We employ locally hired workers in Cambodia under the specific skills program. They are active in their respective workplaces.
  • ・In 2018, the Company hired one person from Vietnam as a full-time employee to facilitate the recruitment of personnel from Vietnam and other countries. That person is now responsible for training and assisting in the recruitment of foreign part-timers.

Promotion of employment of people with disabilities.

  • ・In 2023, the employment rate of persons with disabilities was 4.34%, exceeding the legally mandated 2.3% employment rate.

  • ・We offer a second career system so that our employees can continue to work after retirement. We are continuously creating an environment that is easy for seniors to work in.
